Seán Heuston Dublin 1916 Society
On behalf of the 1916 Societies I request your support for our campaign to hold an All Ireland Referendum on Irish Unity. The people of Scotland will exercise their right to national self-determination in a constitutional referendum in September 2014 and we believe the people of Ireland have the same right to determine their constitutional future without outside interference or impediment.
Irrespective of their personal and political positions on independence Scottish parliamentarians have acknowledged the right of the people of Scotland to decide. We ask you to support the campaign to for the Irish peoples rights in this regard to be respected.
The 1916 Societies are Ireland’s fastest growing political movement. We have established Societies throughout Ireland, Australia, United States as well as Scotland. The 1916 Societies are an independent Irish Political Movement that looks upon the ideals and principals set out in the 1916 Proclamation as our significant point of reference.
The proposed Six County border poll under Britain’s Northern Ireland Act 1998 permits the Secretary of State (an English politician devoid of a single vote in Ireland) to determine:
when and if a poll may be called,
the wording of the poll and,
who qualifies to vote.
We believe the core concept of Irish republicanism is that Irish constitutional authority derives from the Irish people and does not defer to laws or decrees emanating from London.
As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising it is clear that Britain continues to refuse to recognise Ireland as one democratic unit and presumes that Westminster will define the parameters of Irish democracy.
Republicanism is a unifying concept based on interdependence as opposed to tribal commonality. The exceptional Republican leadership of 1916 knew that interdependence could only be nurtured within a national context and not a partitionist one. They were very specific about that in the Proclamation calling for a ‘National Government representative of the whole people of Ireland’ and declaring that the Republic must be,
‘…oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien Government, which have divided a minority from the majority in the past.’
A Six County poll legitimises the very mechanisms invented by Britain to harness these differences to British interests by endorsing the Unionist veto and accepting the artificial statelet that incubates and nurtures the sectarian dynamic in Irish politics.
The 1916 Proclamation for too long has been relegated to the status of a notional aspiration. The 1916 Societies wish to be part of a broad movement which reinstates the Proclamation of the Republic to its rightful place and its original intent as a template for action. In that spirit we respectfully request your endorsement of an All Ireland Referendum on Irish Unity. One Ireland – One Vote.

By propagating the myth the Good Friday Agreement had the ability to deliver a United Ireland and refusing to concede that you had accepted the Union with Britain as the legitimate constitutional position you condemned the generations next to sectarian division.
Attempting to conceal your acceptance of the Union with Britain and thus your evolution in to a Unionist party you have engaged in a process of sectarian jesting with equally vile and contemptible Politicians from other Unionist parties. You have used symbolism to portray a Republican image and and secure Loyalist Reaction. You have done so to maintain an appropriate level of inter-communal mistrust and violence which is required to maintain the sectarian pact between the British War machine it’s Loyalist proxies and Constitutional Nationalism. In doing so you condemned the generations next to sectarian division.
On Monday morning Little children will make their way to school, their uniforms and little shoes but one week old and for some the ribbons in their hair still a novelty. They will be completely oblivious to the Red Hand Defenders threat that hangs over their heads.
We won’t because in all you have done you have done nothing but condemn the generations next to sectarian division.

The Ballymurphy Massacre Committee is in receipt of a letter from the Historical Enquiries Team (HET) announcing that it has suspended its “reviews” of cases involving the British Army due to the damning report by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC). This acknowledgement by the State publicly and officially validates what the Ballymurphy families have been saying to each British Secretary of State as far back as Shaun Woodward–that the HET is not independent. Due to the great work by Dr. Patricia Lundy they are now having to listen and concede.
It is inexcusable in an environment that is claimed to be a democracy, that from August 1971 til the present day, there has never been an investigation into the murder of 11 innocent civilians from our neighborhood. Successive governments have ignored this atrocity and attempted to divert the cause of justice by offering only a desktop review of the 11 cases through the HET. With the HMIC condemning the HET policies and practices which their report refers to as “illegal,” the State has no excuse not to conduct a proper investigation.
As the HET letter to the Ballymurphy families indicates, there is now no mechanism through which the British State is dealing with Army murders in Ballymurphy. In the 40 year absence of any proper investigation, the Ballymurphy families have designed a formula to address this.
We now call for both the Irish and the British governments to respond immediately to the Ballymurphy Independent Panel proposal.

DISSIDENT republicans are being blamed for a paint-bomb attack on the home of Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness. BBlack paint was dubed on the Sink Fein politation’s home in Derry‘s Bog side area at around the same time as he was warned of a dissident death threat.
The paint-bombing came after Mr McGuinnesscondemned dissident republicans in relation to the police interception of a van carrying primed mortars in Derry. Police also made him aware of the death threat shortly before his deprture to the Americas with First Ministor Peter Robinson. It is understood police were not notified of the paint-bomb attack. Following the threat Mr McGuinness’s criticised those responsable and said he would not be silenced. He said at the time he was sure that his political analysis was shared by republicans who were interested in building an agreed Ireland. He declined to comment yesterday.

RIRA plan for more violence
A masked member of the Real IRA has vowed that the organisation will continue its campaign of violent attacks in the city.
The masked man appeared at an Easter Rising commemoration in the City Cemetery yesterday organised by the 32 County Sovereignty Movement and read a statement from “the leadership of Óglaigh na h’Éireann”.
The man, dressed in a dark raincoat and black balaclava, appeared from the crowd towards the end of the commemoration to the applause of the several hundred people in attendance.
“The IRA will continue to attack Crown force personnel and their installations as well as British interests and infrastructure,” he said.
The masked man also said the Real IRA would work with other dissident republican groups.
“Republican unity remains a key objective and we will work closely with other organisations.
“Continued divisions within republicanism only serve the interests of our enemies,” he said.
The masked man also claimed there is only one IRA.
“The challenge for republicans remains the removal of the British presence and violation of our sovereignty. The Irish Republican Army will continue to challenge this violation.
“There is only Irish Republican Army and it is present in this cemetery today,” he said.
His speech was greeted with loud applause and cheering from the crowd.
“Republicans stand here today continuing to defy those who demand submission,” he said.
Mr Donnelly also said; “The 32CSm challenge those who defend these servants of the crown to explain what argument exists that defends the rights of the PSNI to harass children and suppress the republican message.”
In an apparent reference to Sinn Féin, the leading republican also said; “Republicans cannot and will not engage with the institutions of partition and those who do have no right to claim the label of republican. The unavoidable conclusion reached when looking at former comrades at Stormont is that there is simply no constitution path to a United Ireland,” he said.
In a departure from previous years, the ‘colour party’ was not masked and wore white shirts and black ties as opposed to paramilitary uniform.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS CONFESSION ?crowns shilling as you call it also pays for health care, education etc. in six counties of Ireland…..If your argument were to hold true would you encourage doctors and teachers to refuse it too? Sinn Féin have, through the use of the Northern Assembly, in the last 12 months devolved policing powers from London to Belfast and brought the issue of controlling fiscal powers to the point that even our Unionist friends now agree that tax raised in the six counties should no longer be sent to the crown that it should remain where it is generated. These are two of the greatest achievements in almost 100 years on the road to Irish unity…..all done while in receipt of the ‘crowns shilling’, if the quenn wants to fund the road to Irish unity let her.

Eire Nua needed now more than ever.
:Eire Nua, d’Aois Nua
Republican Sinn Féin‘s proposal for a just settlement in Ireland is ÉIRE NUA (New Ireland) — A four province federal Ireland, with a self-governing parliament in each of the four provinces: the nine-county Ulster, Connacht, Munster and Leinster. Each of these parliaments would deal with the governing of their province as part of the objective of the creation of an Ireland of self-governing communities in which people will control their own affairs.
This involves the total re-structuring of local government in this island, not only in administration but also in the nature and functions of local authorities themselves. This re-structuring would be on four levels in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity of function:
VOLUNTARY COMMUNITY COUNCILS for every 1,500-6,000 people in urban and rural areas with the right of audience at all District Council meetings.
DISTRICT COUNCILS: This basic unit of statutory government would serve the needs of communities of 10,000-40,000 (depending on local variations) and would have charge of public services to individuals and families in the sphere of social welfare, education, labour guidance, trading and employment practics, housing, planning permission, agriculture and fishing, small industry development etc.
REGIONAL COUNCILS: These would concern themselves with (a) public services with a high technological content, eg hospitals, major roads, telcommunications and third level education; (b) collection of local revenue and (c) economic, physical and educational planning.
PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLIES: The provincial legislature would allocate funds to the Regional Councils and co-ordinate regional plans.
Each district would have a local government office where the citizens could conduct all their normal business — housing, agricultural, grants and information on the social services — all under one roof in a local town within an hour’s drive of each and every citizen. In this way the citizens, with proper training at school, could do all their own business rather than be “beholden” to politicians. Within a special Gaeltacht Region, there would be a local office (as above) in each Gaeltacht district.
There would be a National Parliament, which Republican Sinn Féin proposes placing in Athlone — the geographic centre of Ireland. The National Parliament would deal with Foreign Affairs and Defence.
The motive behind the Federal proposal is to be fair to all sections of the country. The Republican struggle is against the domination of Ireland by the British State. The people who are currently described as Unionist are a part of the Irish nation. Their concerns about domination by Dublin in a unitary State of all Ireland should be listened to, and are in fact shared by the so-called ‘peripheral’ regions in the 26-County area.
POSTED ON BEHALF OF RSF : Posted By: Geraldine Mcnamara
Father Raymond Murray a well-known crusader for human rights in Occupied Ireland and Chairperson of Relations for Justice, in a book called “State Violence,” chronicled the abuse by the Occupying British of emergency laws in Ireland which continue to this day, with harassment and intimidation of civilians; injuries caused by plastic bullets; collusion between British forces and their created loyalist death squads by British intelligence. Assassinations, killings and murders by the British and their mentored forces, torture, excessive punishments and degrading strip-searching with hand rape in their prisons. Political internment without proper trial and rampant abuse ignored by all despite a much touted peace process, except a handful of individuals and civil rights organisations.
Father Murray wrote, “I experienced the blatant cover-up of this illegal and immoral behaviour. Directly and indirectly the army, police, doctors, civil administration and government were involved in this criminal action.” This continues today aided and abetted at the highest level, including Martin McGuinness the deputy first minister who administers British Occupation. McGuinness has advised the British, that Irish political prisoners of conscience are the soft underbelly of Irish resistance to British Occupation. His ignorance may be forgiven on the basis of his butcher boy background but as a leadership pretender, he would do well to acquaint himself with genuine former Irish statesmen, like Padraig Pearse who referred to “The Spiritual Nation” in the following manner;
“But the soul of the enslaved and broken nation may conceivably be a more splendid thing than the soul of the great free nation; and that is one reason why the enslavements of old and glorious nations, that have taken place so often in history, are the most terrible things that have ever happened in the world.”
Father Raymond himself further wrote, “There are two kinds of histories, one fact and one semi-fiction. This is the conclusion of my experience in working for human rights. The history put out by the ruling class borders on fiction. Their official communiqués are published first and grab the headlines. They hold attention while a crisis lasts. It is an attempt to legitimise illegal actions by which they maintain their power over the powerless and the poor. It is tyranny’s deceit.”
Arthur O’Connor another honourable statesman, addressing the Irish Nation more than 200 years ago, described administrators like the the British puppet McGuinness in the following manner;
“But, why should I waste time in proving that government, in the hands of Irish administration, has been a system for supporting the few in oppressing the many, instead of yielding impartial protection? Has it not been by sowing, maintaining and fomenting division, that Irish administrations have governed Ireland? Look to the continuation of civil discord, of plunder and bloodshed, which has infested our island, since the Welch landed in 1165, to this instant, that these hell-hounds intituled Ancient Britons are butchering our disarmed people. Look in this century to the writings of wretchedness, of misery, of want and oppression, under the different shapes of White-boys, Right-boys, Hearts-of-oak men, Peep-o-day boys, and Steel-men. Yet where is there an instance on record, in which the Government or Legislature in Ireland have inquired into the causes of their constant unerring marks of oppression? No! A system of smothered war between the oppressors and the oppressed, could not bear inquiry, for it would bear redress. Redress means restoration of plunder and restoration of rights. Therefore sanguinary laws and military outrage, whose expences are endless, have been substituted for justice, whose experiences are nothing.”
Neither would Father Raymond a tireless worker for social justice, be regarded as an Irish republican or British by those who knew him well but for those who pay lip service and make political capital out of a so called “peace process” without justice, they would do well to pay heed to this lifetime campaigner for justice and peace, when he again wrote;
“Reconciliation involves the work of justice, of restoring to the other person what you have taken from him and paying for the injury done him, with a determination that that will not occur again. It involves giving back to people their dignity, self-respect, freedom, human rights, the right to worship and educate their children in their faith, to receive back the place that has been taken and the community/country that has been confiscated and oppressed.”
This author would strongly disagree with the the politics of Gerry McGeogh, one of Occupied Ireland’s most recent political internees, but without any shadow of doubt, regard him like Father Murray, as a very spiritual man of unique integrity. He has had two heart attacks and is currently in very bad health, deprived of medication. Just after his recent internment, Gerry called to advise that during the previous night’s physically enforced lockdown, several political prisoners wound up with broken arms, legs and noses, beat down by 50 prison guards with dogs, in full riot gear, masks, with batons calling the prisoner’s “Fenian bastards” describing the situation as really bad at Maghaberry. Gerry is not a member of any organization but the political prisoners have welcomed Gerry as a ‘guest’ on the republican wing and have advised him not to take part in their struggle for health reasons. Since the’ dirty protest’ by more than a dozen prisoners, Gerry’s cell is still full of shit and urine. The prison regime are planning to continue this brutal 23-24 lockup every day and night.
This describtion corresponds with the widespread brutality and inhuman treatment of political prisoners in the H Blocks, Long Kesh that included Bobby SandsBobby Sands and others as young as sixteen, immortalized in the words of the late Cardinal Tomas O Fiach, who described conditions like those in Maghaberry today, as akin “to the hell holes of Calcutta”, which ended with the deaths of ten young men on hunger strike. Those very few campaigners who are attempting to prevent a re-occurrence of this horrific tragedy again, are being censored by the British and their collaborators. They ask you to share articles like this, which highlight injustices in occupied Ireland, with your friends by email, facebook or twitter, in the face of rampant censorship by intranets of British compliant states worldwide, as part of the cover-up of British barbarity.
