Óglach Micky Kearney – Belfast Brigade, Irish National Liberation Army (INLA).

Micky Kearney, aged 33, and a father of five, was from West Belfast and was highly respected among his comrades in the Republican Socialist Movement.

Micky had been an active Volunteer within the INLA and a committed Activist with the IRSP since joining the Movement. After a spell in Prison, he was released just before Christmas 1986.

Upon his release from Gaol, Micky immediately reported back to duty with his local INLA Unit. The loss of Micky was hugely felt by all who knew him.

Fallen Comrades of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA).

Thirty years ago, in 1987, these five brave INLA Volunteers sacrificed their lives in defence of the Republican Socialist Movement.

They gave up everything for their families, for their friends, for their comrades, for their communities, for the working class; for their country.

We remember them with honour and with pride.

With many thanks to: Irish Fenian Brotherhood.

The 19th March marks the 13th anniversary of my old comrade Charlie Ronayne (Midleton Co. Cork), who died in 2004.

Left to Right: Jim Lane. Charlie Roayne – O’Mahony, Seán Murry, ‘Gypo’ O’Mahony and Jerry Madden.

Charlie and I first met as we went together with others, across the Border on 11th December 1956 to fight the forces of occupation in the Six North Eastern Counties of Ireland.

18 Cork IRA Volunteers went on active service the following night, 12th December 1956. The attached photo was taken at Easter 1960 in Trafalgar Square, London. All 6 in the photo were Irish Republicans. In 1962, Charlie was best-man at my wedding. In later years, Charlie was a Town Councillor representing Sinn Fein on Midleton Town Council. He was re-elected several times. We remained the best of comrades all through the remainder of his life. Ní beidh a leitéid ann arís.

With many thanks to: Jim Lane, Ann Connolly.

End the Maghberry torture

Comrades, we are gathered here today to pay homage to our brave volunteers and to highlight the plight that they are currently facing as they languish in captivity. It is important to send not only our Solidarity, but also to show our defiance of British rule and continue to progress towards the United Ireland we need.

Fair play to éirígí in Belfast. In the last 48 hours, éirígí upper falls activists have distributed leaflets to every household in the Glen Colin area aswell as spray painted a number of different political stencils exposing the failings of the 6 county state and promoting the ideals of James Connolly. Also activists erected a mural at the old andersonstown barricks site saying loud and clear SLASH STORMONT NOT SERVICES continuing éirígí’s commitment to ending the failed stormont regime! Maith Thú comrades
