Heroin sold openly in North Belfast Park

On learning of alleged heroin sales and drug deals being carried out in and around the Waterworks in North Belfast I along with another community activist decided to visit the park this morning to chat to some local frequent park devotees, dog walkers and members of the community who live and work in the streets and houses adjoining the park , we uncovered some very worrying eye witness reports and drug paraphernalia

On entering the Wats as some locals refer to the public park that runs from the Cliftonville Road via the Antrim Road, Cavehill  Road and Westland Roas a sprawling ,huge, relatively safe public green space for dog walkers ,families ,fishermen, joggers kids and the elderly we found evidence of recent drug use near Solitude home  to Cliftonville  Football Club, while engaging with regular users of the park we discovered suspected…
