‘ROBOCOP’ WM. MELENDEZ FACES TRIAL NOV. 2 IN NEAR-FATAL BEATING OF DETROIT AUTOWORKER FLOYD DENT

Melendez faces charges of “Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder, Common Law Offenses, and Assault by Strangulation.” The charges, brought by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, carry a total of 25 years in prison. None of the other cops shown in the videos kicking, tasing and taunting Dent were charged.

  1. Thank you for reblogging this. Davontae’s mother has been feeling down over a hearing that was delayed and then cancelled, with a vague explanation of an investigation being underway. Of course, there’s nothing to investigate, just admissions of “error” to announce, after sending Davontae home.
